New Jersey clarified the rules for magazines and newspapers. N.J.A.C. 18:24-1.2, effective 12/07/2009
In New York, a taxpayer was able to get a refund of hotel taxes paid, even though they had no receipts, by showing that they're contract with the vendor included the taxes. Satellite TV broadcasters in Washington have to pay use tax on the equipment provided to customers for free.
